Mimi Magnuson is an experienced transactional entertainment attorney with over 20 years of legal experience as in-house counsel for various television production entities within Warner Bros. Discovery. 

Mimi has served as project attorney for high-profile series such as HBO’s Succession and The Penguin, as well as ABC’s franchise The Bachelor along with numerous other scripted, unscripted and animated series. She specializes in talent deals including actor, writer, director, producer, and host deals and negotiates agreements for the acquisition of rights in books, articles, screenplays and life stories. Her experience also encompasses reviewing complex chain of title issues, vetting scripts and scenes for rights violations as well as in the context of docudramas (e.g., defamation, privacy, trademark, copyright) and monitoring and advising on day-to-day production matters.

Prior to Mimi’s studio legal work, she represented top tier talent as a partner at Edelstein, Laird & Sobel, practicing in filmed entertainment, music, merchandising and licensing.  Before moving into the entertainment field, Mimi was a corporate attorney working in securities, M&A, franchising and real estate.

She received her undergraduate and law degrees from University of Colorado.  She resides in Aspen, Colorado, and she is licensed in California and Colorado.
